I think I should have started with this Rock Chick series by Kristen Ashley before I read any of her other works. This, for me, was very tame. After reading some of her more recent books, like, Breathe, for example, this just didn't really hold up for me. However, besides the lack of sexy timez, I did like it. The premise is cool, her heroines are seemingly strong-willed and independent but then they kinda fall into the whole "do what the Hero says" trope because they are big manly men who know better. Yeah right.Points to her for writing such quirky, wacky characters that are a little bit "out there" but are flawed and not perfect, which I could appreciate. The romance between the two MCs was a bit lost on me, though. I get that Indy has been in love with Lee from the time she was 5 and he was 8 and held her hand at her mom's memorial while she cried, but I just didn't feel the connection. It sorta fell flat for me. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't live up to the hype surrounding these rock chicks. I do, however, like the build up for the future books that I have yet to read! The heroes for each book seem a little more intriguing and a little more appealing than the last.So far.
