Hear Me: Dark Erotica (Volume 3)

Hear Me - Skye Warren This was very unexpected. I did not see the twist at all--and I should have! I've read a book like this before with similar themes but not the same exact circumstances, so I felt like I should have seen it coming, but a teeny, tiny part of me is kind of glad I didn't and that the author was able to blow me away like that.Again, I have to give props to Skye Warren on her writing in this book, especially. She used some rather lovely language and her analogies were beautiful and disturbing and it all felt so fragile and delicate."If she made it to water, she could float away. Even if only to drift down to the bottom, entombed in sand castles and chained by seaweed. They would take her prisoner; they would keep her safe."I really should have paid better attention to the signs because now that I look back I do remember certain little things that should have stood out more to me, that I should have picked up on. But then again, the story itself was just so heart-wrenching... until I got to the ending and then it just wasn't.Essentially, the protagonist is a woman who was kidnapped and trained to be a submissive slave for her next master. But things go horribly wrong and she gets away. She's weak and at death's door but she manages to make it to safety -or so she thinks- but she'd remembered overhearing that she was being sold and she figures that the man who has helped her is really her new master - when in fact he isn't. Well, all I can say is keep in mind that the author is all about HEAs. That should make everything better... or not.
